This is not the America I was raised to believe in

iWon News: "Academic freedom has never completely protected professors who make unpopular statements. One was fired in 1960 for suggesting that premarital sex among students could be a good thing. Three decades later, a department chair was demoted for saying a Jewish conspiracy denigrated blacks in the movies.

Now experts say the Sept. 11 attacks have put new fire in the battle over just where academic freedom ends and misconduct - or even treason - begins."

They miss the point alot lately that we are allowed free speech, we are allowed personal views and while the essay may not have been politically correct there is some definate truth in it and anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

Some People Push Back
Face the fact that just because we don't like to think of America this way doesn't make some of this any less true
