Stole this but I like it

Welcome to the land of the free. Free to come and go as you please. Free to
board up windows, free to ignore weather warnings, free to stand on the
side of the road out of town with your thumb out begging for a ride, free
to take your gasless car to a gas station and beg for gas, free to wait for
someone else to come save you , free to sit and pray to god for help.
What ever happened to "[insert your favorite deity here] helps those who
help themselves."

Here again, in times of strife, the question on everyone's mind becomes:
"Who is to blame?" Well I know the answer?. I blame NOAA for not calling
you personally to tell you a HUGE hurricane is coming to your house and to
leave the area. I blame the Red Cross for not setting up a five star resort
outside the predicted hurricane path 3 days before it hit and for not
shuttling you there on a charter bus. I blame the mayor for not sending a
limo to pick you up to get you out of town. I blame your mother for not
smacking you upside the head more often as a child to knock more sense into
you, and you for not smacking your stubborn mother when she said she wanted
to stay. I believe it's President [insert whomever you like here: Bush,
Clinton, Reagan, Lincoln, Washington? whatever.]'s fault for making you
live below sea level in a geographic region prone to hurricanes. It's his
fault you are poor, have 5 kids and no spouse, car, gas, food, water, scuba
gear or gold chains around your neck. It's his fault your welfare check
can't afford you an Escalade (or in this case a Zodiac with a 15HP Johnson
outboard to get you off your tin roof). [At least the numbskulls in the
tornado belt have the common sense to build tornado proof basements to hide
in. Oh wait? trailer parks? never mind.]

The people of this nation are becoming weaker and weaker- always looking
for someone else to blame for their own predicament. It is always someone
else's fault. I'm tired of people using socio-economic or "poor" as an
excuse. "I can't feed my family 'cause I'm poor. I can't get a job 'cause
I'm poor. I can't get an education 'cause I'm poor. I can't [whatever]
'cause I'm poor." I grew up poor . This country gave me the freedom to do
just that. I know that 99% of poor people are poor because they are just
plain lazy. "Poor" is a choice, not an excuse.

What has happened to this area and the people in it is a tragedy. We as a
country should do what is reasonable to help them. But before you go
placing blame and pointing fingers at anyone else, point the finger at
yourself (especially those of you waist deep in water) and ask yourself if
you personally did everything you could to prevent it.
AMEN!!"

I agree. We need to be more self reliant. There are too many people in the world, and not enough money or space. If something bad happens where I live - earthquake, eruption, hurricane, flood, whatever - it's every man for himself. It's me and my husband and kids left to fend for ourselves. So, we're preparing for that. If we suffer, it's nobodys fault but our own.

Think of the native American people... there must have been hurricanes and disasters that they endured before the white man came here and gave them more than they could handle. They watched and listened to the animals that gave them warnings that something bad was coming. They lived lightly with the earth and knew how to use the resources from their natural environment to survive. It wasn't until the Europeans came with their guns that the native americans had to face something they couldn't handle... because up to that point everything they faced had been natural and intelligent. ignorant white power-hungry people with guns and beer seeking money and power were more than the native americans could handle. and now those white people are killing each other.

We're not just weak now, we're stupid. We're ignorant of any natural resources which might be available to us. not that there are many natural resources left, because we've just about ruined it all. We don't trust ourselves, so we kill each other.

what can i do to feel better about it all? i have this feeling in my gut like i should seek out a native american tribe and support them. maybe live with them and learn some of their old ways. i don't feel like they'd want me around, though, because i'm a white girl.

My Quote Of The Day

"My kind of loyalty was to one's country, not to its institutions or its officeholders. The country is the real thing, the substantial thing, the eternal thing; it is the thing to watch over, and care for, and be loyal to; institutions are extraneous, they are its mere clothing, and clothing can wear out, become ragged, cease to be comfortable, cease to protect the body from winter, disease, and death." --- Mark Twain

People sense president's soulless sensibility - 9/10/05

by Marianne Williamson
Something very important is happening here -- something more than simply a hurricane, or the suffering of thousands who were neglected by their government during a time of great need. Most worldly occurrences reflect deeper truths. What is happening is a gigantic reckoning, as Americans are forced to come to terms with how very, very naked is the emperor who we thought had such incredible clothes.

We are raised in the United States of America to believe our government is the strongest in the world, that as Americans we are basically protected, and that our country is basically good. It is cognitive dissonance for us to be confronted with evidence to the contrary, and yet such evidence has been piling up fast and furiously during this odd and potentially catastrophic phase of American history.

There is nothing strong about rushing into a unilateral war based on faulty intelligence, squandering the resources necessary with which to take care of your own people; there is nothing protective about a government that apparently didn't monitor events on the ground in New Orleans any better -- in fact, less well -- than the average viewer of CNN; and there is nothing good about taking care of the rich at the expense of the poor.

If it took a Category 5 hurricane and the huge suffering of thousands to bring those facts to light, then at least it can be said there is value in this horror. If enough Americans are beginning to wake up and face the awful fact that our country's basic functioning has become infected by a soulless sensibility, then perhaps the suffering on the Gulf Coast will not have been in vain.

Regarding the abysmal response of our government to the hurricane's aftermath, there is a lot of talk right now about accountability. Some argue we should have the discussion today, while others argue that that discussion should wait for a more propitious time.

But there is a danger in waiting, for a governmental status quo has talent for co-opting criticism as long as it can buy enough time. Passions cool; memories become revised and faded.

Six months after a disaster, the government appoints an independent commission to find out what really happened but by the time the commission releases its final report, there is never much sense that too many people are listening. The people are exhausted by then; they're trying their best to move on.

And the status quo knows this; that's part of its game. Do whatever you want; act horrified and remorseful for a minute whenever too much suffering results as a part of your actions; then put off the accountability conversation until people are too tired to care anymore.

This is not a new pattern in America. What might be new -- what I sense might be happening -- is that people are waking up to it now. And as soon as we wake up, then the pattern will end.

Abraham Lincoln said there is not too much evil any American government can perpetrate, as long as the people remain vigilant. He was referring to the fact that we have federal elections every two years, through which we can replace the entirety of the House of Representatives and one-third of the U.S. Senate.

The ultimate accountability conversation is written into the U.S. Constitution; it is called elections. At this particular juncture, that means the mid-term elections of 2006.

The president prides himself on running the government like a well-run business. That, of course, makes him the chief executive. And if the government failed, then he failed.

Fool us once, and maybe their tricks were dirty; fool us twice, maybe their public relations was too good; fool us now, and perhaps we just deserve to be fooled. From war to hurricanes, oh, America, the alarm bells of needless human suffering are going off everywhere.

A nation that refuses to wake up at this point is in a dangerous slumber. The nightmares are upon us now. They will remain until our eyes are opened and we have awakened to the truth.

Quick & Easy Ice Cream Cake The Kiddies Will Love

1 Box Ice Cream Sandwiches (was told I'd need 2, but 1 box of Blue Bunny 12 count was plenty, with 1 left over!)
Jar of Hot Fudge (I use the 16 oz. jar rather than the 12, as I LOVE hot fudge!)
Crushed Peanuts
Cool Whip (Was told 1 container, but I put extra on)

Line a 9"x13" cake pan with the sandwiches - this will entail some creative slicing of the last one or two to cover bottom of pan. Cover with fudge - sprinkle peanuts, cover with Cool Whip (again - was told 1 was enough, but I used 1-1/2 containers) and top with more peanuts. Stick back in freezer and slice it up to the kiddos delight!

I'm Guilty

...of not blogging much lately, either here or over on the 'dragon's' blog...

My excuses are for one-that I've been really busy trying to make money (keeps me busy and still seems verrrrrrrry slow)

and also I guess that I rhyme with depressed...wait...I mean I have been...and was thinking of other words to rhyme with it after Lydia's post... but rest (what I seem to do lots of when depressed)...and Budapest were all that came to mind....oh...and dressed....

I addressed it with some tequila and karaoke this past weekend and that seemed to help.

At least work has been fun, classes picking up now that parents have their first paycheck after the back-to-school spending frenzy...and meanwhile I got a commission job creating two star-shaped bowls for Make-a-Wish to present as a thank-you to Disney, for wishes they have granted the kids... kind of a fun thing and I was thinking...after they give them the bowls, I will officially be represented in "Disney's" art collection! :-) Fun thought and good for the resume.

Have decided to create a new dragon tile piece for the upcoming Arizona CLAY exhibit (prize monies have been raised...) I'll keep ya all posted on that one.

One more thing...Brandy, I am frustrated trying to edit my front page on the site...she has some tables or frames or something set up and I can't seem to put an image where I want it...can you give me a couple minutes tutoring sometime soon?

The pledge argument again, What do you think? I think the under God is devisive and should be removed

iWon News: "'For some people, the pledge is a statement that the United States is a chosen nation, that the United States is a nation under God, that it is God's chosen nation,' Ellis said. 'For others,' he said, 'it reflects their belief in God.'

For Newdow, that's precisely the problem.

'Imagine every morning if the teachers had the children stand up, place their hands over their hearts, and say, 'We are one nation that denies God exists,'' he said.

'I think that everybody would not be sitting here saying, 'Oh, what harm is that?' They'd be furious. And that's exactly what goes on against atheists. And it shouldn't.' "

Amsterdam and Tulips and things that rhyme with depressed

I do not have the testicles to take B's route to New York. Kelly would probably divorce me if I bought a ticket to New York for a trip without him. Here's the plan. I'm going to start out telling him that it will be a trip to Amsterdam to see the tulips, art etc. Poor Kelly will be picturing Cristal and I getting high in some cafe, and before you know it he will be enthusiatically supporting the whole NY idea. That is how it went in my fantasy anyway. Really Kelly has no problem with me having an adventure as long as I get someone else to watch the kids and get a job to pay for it. He's very understanding about all of that. If I could spend a thousand dollars without him being absolutely evil to me the A/C in my truck would be fixed by now. I would have a couch in our family room instead of a 30 plus year old uncomfortable nasty loveseat that was a hand me down from his mother. I might also be concerned that I would lose credit card priviliges, I have already lost the right to to have a checkbook. (For misplacing my checkbook in the house) Maybe NY is just a fantasy created so that I'll have something to look forward to. I am afraid of my husband because he has all the power and I have none. Boo hoo. He says that when he finishes the two houses he is working on he will give me some time for myself but I seem to remember hearing something like that before. We talked and he said that I should make a list of things for him to do and I have before and I will again but I can't help but to think that this will be a waste of my time. As it has been inthe past.I have been changing diapers since 1996, it's been almost a decade.

HOw to finance New York

Take credit card out of wallet, you are a grown woman and know how to use a charge card. Its not like the tickets are refundable. Or you could just ask him but I go for "it is better to apologize and do what you want than ask permission and be told no". If you just do it he can't say he told you not to.

Cristal and Lydia are going to New York

Woohoo! Cristal and Lydia are going to New York. I have no idea when it will happen or how I wil finance this little get away but the important thing is that we are going on an adventure. I told Cristal that I dreamt that I went to New York. Then we decided that we would go for a few days because it is something that we both would really dig. Yippy skippy, I'm excited. Now women of the blog, please enlighten me as to how I am going to persuade my husband and captor to allow and finance this mission. I'm optimistic.

Brandy, as "God of the Blog" as she likes to call herself (please humour her or she will have her grandaughter cast a weather spell on my husband's family get-together next weekend and it will pour and I will have 30-40 people I can't stand crammed into my tiny 4 room house), has been so amused by the 3 dog stories, that she commanded me to actually blog the two in comments. Yes, I know she wanted them as two separate blogs and I am risking incurring her wrath by not doing so, but I am lazy (not to mention slightly drunk after 4 glasses of wine) and this technically "follows the order of the commandment" as she says, since all she said was, "Blog them both." (Light a candle for me.)

Cristal said: A companion book to this one could be,
Out On the prowl....A Dog gone good time. A well groomed and very loved Dog breaks out of his yard and goes prowling around the nieghborhood looking for bitches in heat with no regurd to his family or the little pups at home. He learns his lesson when he catches the mange from a common garbage eating dog and then losses all his fine blonde hair. The moral of the story is that if you fuck other bitches you'll get the mange.

Dona said: Top Dog was master of his pen and took full advantage of it. He commanded his mate, took other bitches at his whim, and even refused to hunt for his pack, feeling it was beneath him and the duty of his bitch and pups to serve his every need. After many years his bitch had had enough and went her own way, eventually finding a kinder, gentler, more loving mate. Many, many years later Top Dog was crossing a busy street when out of nowhere a Ford 250 4 door pick up ran him over. He was sure that when he glanced up with his quickly departing last ounce of energy he rec
ognized that bleached blond fur and casually elegant toss of ears behind the steering wheel as the pick up sped away. Moral of the story: If you are going to be an asshole to your mate, be sure the bitch can't drive.

Telegraph | News | Embryo created without a father

Telegraph | News | Embryo created without a father

An inapropriate bad children's story (who wants to illustrate it?)

There once was a very bad puppy.

He wasn't purposely bad.

He just found being good very boring.

So he would do things to entertain himself.

He drank out of the toilet instead of his bowl.

He barked at everyone.

He knocked over trash cans.

He even chased cars (on the freeway)

Then one day he decided that he would change his life.

By this time he was a young but full grown dog,

So he went to meetings with a bunch of other dogs like himself

and quit his bad habits cold turkey.

With no wild ways to entertain himself the dog became quite sad.

He went to the Vet and got himself some magic dog biscuits to make him feel better.

The dog was still quite bored and ill content with his life as a dog

(Which really wasn't all that bad)

Not all dogs had the things that this dog had.

This dog had a beautiful bitch, pups, a nice dog house, a well paying job,but still

this dog was not satisfied because he knew he was meant for greater doggy things.

So mostly instead of spending time in his dog house with his pack where he was the

top dog, he would just chase his tail until he became too tired and sad to do even

that, at which point he would sleep for days. THE END

Church God and Protecting Our Children

After reading Brandy's God poem I had originally intended to write a piece about a personal, loving God, who will not be defined by the chronicles of mortals. I am feeling and seeing God everywhere these days and at the very same time I am struggling with my faith in religious institutions. I use to have great faith in the church or at least the one I attend (Brandy may insert her laughter here.) I feel more naive then ever, recent events have made me realize that anything organized and run by humans will be flawed. My church is not a sanctuary, or a comfort. It is just a group of people that gather and praise God. What do child molestation, our litigious society, insurance, God, being a part of a family, and a 25 year old drug charge have in commen. Well I'll tell you and I'll try to present it in an unbiased way and I welcome your insight into this matter and I assure you I can take anything that you have to say. It is no secret that I prefer the children of the church to the adults. I've mentioned before that I'd rather hang out in the nursery with Ranger than hear the word of the Lord. Well except for the short lived period of time that we had a pastor intern who was a lovely human being and really shook things up and helped me to love God so much more. I have enjoyed working in the nursery, being part of vacation bible school, being a youth leader, and now teaching Sunday school. Kelly has not had the same opportunities at church as I, being that with his old work schedule he was gone over half the time. Gradually I have just become more involved . Kelly taught sunday school with me this August and he really dug it. He actually helped some children to feel comfortable with sunday school that had not previously wanted to attend. Well to make a very long story a little less long I'll get to the point. We recently attended a meeting for parents in which a new plan to protect our children was outlined. We had never had a plan previosly and at face this seemed to me like a good idea as protecting children is always a good thing. Never mind that this was a direct resault of a lawsuit brought against a Presbyterian church in Texas by the family of a little girl who had been molested either at church or a church related activity. So this is where the insurance company comes in. In order to continue to be insured our church must have a policy regarding who will supervise and lead our children, how these people will be screened and monitored. It's beginning to sound like government in the house of God, but it's to protect children right so it's a good thing and I'm not opposed. There's a bunch of stuff that seems over the top like no adult shall be alone with any child that is not thier own at church or a church related acivity. I know what your thinking, this is smart right? I believe that these people are my family so this is sounding ludicrous to me. I think it is my responsibility to decide who I wil entrust my child to. Still I'm not concerned with the new policy. Backround checks for every sunday school teacher, youth leader and volunteer. Sounds pretty police like but what the heck, I'm squeaky clean. Not going to effect my family any. WRONG! I rarely think about the fact that my husband is a recovering addict. It just so happens that about 25 years some marijuana paraphenalia was found in Kelly's car. He's got four 25 year old DWI's also. They are so old they don't even effect what he pays for car insurance, but they will effect our church experience in a big way because he will no longer be aloud to work with children. One of Kelly's favorite things to do was help in the nursery with the babies when he was needed but he will no longer get to do this. I think that young people would benefit from being around someone like Kelly. There are so many things that Kelly has done silently for the children in this community for no other reason than because there was a need. We are very hurt, and confused. My God, and my church are not one in the same and I am very soured on the whole church thing. Did I mention that Kelly has been going to this church for the last 44 years. He has never gone to any other church. I'm thinking of looking for another church. Okay so I'm venting here but to comment on my last blog where I mentioned my prank call to Brandy about a place to store my mobile meth lab (which was actually inspired by my Dona quote). I do not actually have a mobile meth lab but if I did it would be okay with my church for me to hang out with the kids seeing as I've never been stupid enough to get caught.

Diamonds and Shoe Fairies

I called Brandy and asked her if I could store my mobile meth lab at U-STOR but she said, "the management is kind of frowning upon that at the moment". Yesterday I went to one of the auctions that B advertised and won the mystery furniture box and assorted other crap. The box was a big let down as it contained a broken 40 inch plasma TV. Among the assorted other crap was two back backs full of lingerie, mostly nice, and what initially appeared to be a bunch of pairs of sexy size 7 and eight shoes. It only took about 20 minutes to clear out the whole unit. When I get home as I'm going through the junk I find a beautiful pair of diamond earrings and a matching pendent. I took them to a jeweler today to have them authenticated. They are 1 1/2 carats total! Yippy I found diamonds. I sold the broke TV to a repair man for $15.00 (it was pretty demolished). I only paid $50 so it was not bad at all. Lindy is also very pleased with her 6 brand new purses that were her share of the loot. Before the diamond discovery I was hoping that I would make my fifty dollars back by selling the lingerie and shoes on ebay. Upon closer inspection I discovered that the shoes were not pairs, go figure. My theory was that a jilted lover stole one of each shoe and put them in a storage untit for revenge. Brandy thinks that perhaps the shoes belong to a one legged gal, either that or the other shoes were stolen by fairies. I disproved the one legged gal theory after observing that the very sexy shoes were lonely left and rights with no mates. Which still leaves the foot fetish fairy theory, which is possible because I have been missing one of each of my many black clunky shoes for some time now. It is possible that a garden variety goth funky foot fetish fellow broke into our home and chose to steal one of each of my well worn shoes. Why didn't he or she (I'm not eliminating any possibilities!) take both shoes? I just don't know. Perhaps he or she was stealing them for his or her one legged girlfriend. The heels were high but they were clunky and kind of masculine and I do have a rather large foot so a small man could easily have gotten his foot into my shoe. Maybe the culprit has sold them on ebay.

When you just have to go - Amazed she wasn't struck by lightening

iWon News: "An inebriated Belgian woman died in a freak accident when she ended up beneath a heavy grave stone at a cemetery, local news agency Belga said Wednesday.

The 33-year-old was on her way home from a bar in the Belgian town of Pulle in the early hours of Saturday when she took a short cut through the cemetery.

But she urgently needed to relieve herself and crouched down between two gravestones. As she lost her balance, she grabbed one of the stones which gave way and landed on top of her.

The public prosecutor's office said she died of suffocation as she was unable to lift the heavy stone."

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN

I may have published this before but it is worth repeating and its not just the Republicans but everybody who forgets about the people who try to make the world a better place whether we want them to or not.

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.

He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union.

If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

It is noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads.

He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans.

The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

Quote of the day

"'To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.' Theodore Roosevelt, 1912"

Or are the following just annoying facts that Bush supporters wish would go away?

1. The U.S. Census Bureau reported a few days ago that the poverty rate rose again last year, with 1.1 million more Americans living in poverty in 2004 than a year earlier. A 17% increase since 1998

2. The infant mortality rate in America's capital is twice as high as in China's capital. That's right - the number of babies who died before their first birthdays amounted to 11.5 per thousand live births in 2002 in Washington, compared with 4.6 in Beijing.

3. The national infant mortality rate has risen under Mr. Bush for the first time since 1958. The U.S. ranks 43rd in the world in infant mortality, according to the C.I.A.'s World Factbook; if we could reach the level of Singapore, ranked No. 1, we would save 18,900 children's lives each year.

4. Nationally, 29 percent of children have no health insurance at some point in the last 12 months, and many get neither checkups nor vaccinations. The U.S. ranks 84th in the world for measles immunizations and 89th for polio. SOURCE"

Took them out and now they are all hyper, mommy and daddy running everywhere and the babies doing their best to keep up or cling at least.

Locate your relatives hurt in Hurricane Katrina

In relation with the conflict/crisis or disaster you wish to make your address known or are looking for a relative. This is how to proceed :

I was preggers and didn't even know it!!!!

Okay well I personally wasn't but my sugar gliders were. We are the proud parents of two new baby gliders. I knew Ruby was fat but Ruby has always been fat and had no clue she was carrying until she came to get her chocolate(not really chocolate, yes I know its poisonious, they were yogurt drops) and there was this little creature on her back. Feeling guilty cause I didn't even notice since I have been so busy and kinda sad that I didn't get to see them in the pouch. Will have pictures soon as they are still very very small and I don't want to overly disturb them.

An interesting new way to hurt your local rapist

iWon News: "Nothing has ever been done to help a woman so that she does not get raped and I thought it was high time,' Sonette Ehlers, 57, said of the 'rapex,' a device worn like a tampon that has sparked controversy in a country used to daily reports of violent crime.

Police statistics show more than 50,000 rapes are reported every year, while experts say the real figure could be four times that as they say most rapes of acquaintances or children are never reported.

Ehlers said the 'rapex' hooks onto the rapist's skin, allowing the victim time to escape and helping to identify perpetrators."

the Mail online | Mail - news, sport, showbiz, health and more | Did human remains start BSE?: "Mad cow disease may have originated from human remains mixed into cattle feed, according to a controversial new theory.

A leading British expert on BSE believes there is strong evidence for linking the brain disease - which gave rise to variant CJD in humans - to a grisly trade in carcass material that was prevalent in the 1960s and '70s."

Why Doesn't this surprise me
