Only Time ~Enya

Who can say
where the road goes
where the day flows
only time
And who can say
if your love grows
as your heart chose
only time
Who can say
why your heart sighs
as your love flies
only time
And who can say
why your heart cries
when your love lies
only time

Who can say
when the roads meet
that love might be
in your heart
And who can say
when the day sleeps
if the night keeps
all your heart

Night keeps all your heart

Who knows - only time

To my friends: Reflecting on 2010, looking toward 2011

There were probably many, many times this year when I may have....
Disturbed you,
Troubled you,
Pestered you,
Irritated you,
Drove you mad,
Bugged you,
or got on your nerves.
So today I just wanted to tell you.....
Suck it up, CUPCAKE cause there ain't no changes planned for 2011!!

Disaster

Disaster is change. It's opportunity in a loose fitting, hooded garment.

George Carlin

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it? A Death! What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...

...and you finish off as an orgasm.

Lying Eyes

Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation.
Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way
to fly.

Brooklyn's first pottery wheel experience

This is on my facebook videos...she is about eight months here

No snappy title. In fact, no title at all. I need coffee...

It's called a default belief, when you agree to rules before you think, when you go along because you're expected to. A million of those in a lifetime unless you're careful.

Tomorrow my oldest daughter turns 21. I get Brooklyn overnight, our first =) Leesie, the ever practical, is warming up for New Year's Eve when she plans to go home *before* midnight...I get Brooklyn overnight that night too!

Ode to Joe

Oh my love how I've missed you.
I tried to live without you
On the 3rd day I was thinking irrational thoughts
I wanted to stay in bed all day
but the kids kept asking to be fed
Without you I am just Angst and bad (really bad) poetry
I will never again forsake you
Lifter of my spirits
Dear sweet Joe
You are so warm
So strong
Your the best part of waking up
I need you
In my cup

Surprise!

When will you learn to expect what you can't imagine will happen?

Brandy's obit ala Ying and Yang

Brandy Lare Dickerson, the Dragon Lady, born October 13th 1964. A beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, potter, writer, artist and friend flew from the earth on December 4th 2010. She lived many places during her 46 years but her favorite will always be an old farmhouse in Oklahoma. Brandy enjoyed feeding those she loved good food and books. She liked wearing capes and didn’t use an umbrella because she preferred to get wet. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her bone marrow donor. Please consider honoring Brandy by joining the donor registry at www.bethematch.org.
She is survived by her parents, siblings, husband Les her Victorian Barbarian, her children, whom she was so very proud of - her son Joshua Dickerson and his wife Amber, her daughter April Marie Dickerson Lopez and husband Michael, and her much loved grand daughter Emily Marie Lopez, the Weather Witch. A memorial will be held in Brandy’s honor at the Valley Garden Center in Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, January 8th at 3 p.m. All who knew her are invited to attend. Per Brandy’s request, no crying is allowed unless they are tears of joy.

Dreamapalooza

I have been having some excruciatingly vivid dreams since returning from Corpus Christi. That's quite unusual for me. I very rarely remember anything I dream and have always envied Ying's dream life.

Nattering and Chattering

I have nothing to say of interest to anyone, but Ying says she prefers when people write a personal post as opposed to hitting the "blog this" button. Since I've been doing a lot of the "blog this" lately, thought I should appease her and write something. Too bad I have nothing to say.
Hubby and I are going to the movies this afternoon, which probably seems like no big deal to most people. But, since he basically works 7 days a week all year long, it is a big deal here! (And of course he's working this morning before we go and will run through his field again tonight before going to bed, as always!)
He very rarely goes anywhere, and tends to all my animals while I flit all over the place. I guess he deserves a movie now and then.
Even though I'm now officially bigger than I've ever been in my life, I'm going to have buttered popcorn with peanut M & Ms in it.

Because It's Christmas

An extra one - for Brandy.

If one inspired, innocent, loving, soaring dreamer believes in a universe of joy and light and perfect being, and she's wrong and dies, it's not the dreamer who's been foolish, but the universe.

Merry Christmas, my friend. Thank you for reminding me to believe.
I love and miss you.

Allow Yourself

No matter how qualified or deserving you are, you will never reach a better life until you can imagine it for yourself, and allow yourself to have it.

For B on Christmas Eve

I ate about 2 lbs of cream cheese cookie batter while I was making cookies. Not to mention the baked ones I ate as they came out of the oven. They are basically nothing but butter and cream cheese.
I know she's proud of me!

Things Left Undone

Heart break come in the form of cinnamon rolls some days.Dad and I went to the store today to get all the food needed for Mike's birthday dinner tonight and xmas tomarrow. I went to get dinner rolls when I happened upon cinnamon rolls. Never has a little can made me so sad before. Mom made her cinnamon rolls every year from christmas morning. I have tried many times to make them like she does, while also good never like mom makes them. As I started to try dad told me the canned ones were fine this year, and not to be hard on my self. Now as i cook all I can think of is these dumb rolls that have got the best of me, and my mother is not here to teach how she makes her's so well. Its not the memories you have that are so hard it the one you will never have the hurt the most.

Rabbit Moon

The Moon rabbit, also called the Jade Rabbit, is a rabbit that lives on the moon in folklore, based on pareidolia that identifies the markings of the moon as a rabbit. The story exists in many cultures, particularly in East Asian folklore, where it is seen pounding in a mortar and pestle.[1][2] In Chinese folklore, it is often portrayed as a companion of the moon goddess Chang'e, constantly pounding the elixir of life for her; but in Japanese and Korean versions it is just pounding the ingredients for rice cake.

In the Buddhist Śaśajâtaka (Jataka Tale 316),[3] a monkey, an otter, a jackal, and a rabbit resolved to practice charity on the day of the full moon (Uposatha), believing a demonstration of great virtue would earn a great reward.

When an old man begged for food, the monkey gathered fruits from the trees and the otter collected fish, while the jackal wrongfully pilfered a lizard and a pot of milk-curd. The rabbit, who knew only how to gather grass, instead offered its own body, throwing itself into a fire the man had built. The rabbit, however, was not burnt. The old man revealed himself to be Śakra and, touched by the rabbit's virtue, drew the likeness of the rabbit on the moon for all to see. It is said the lunar image is still draped in the smoke that rose when the rabbit cast itself into the fire.

A version of this story can be found in the Japanese anthology Konjaku Monogatarishū, where the rabbit's companions are a fox and a monkey.

Similar legends occur in Mexican folklore, where people also identified the markings on the moon as a rabbit. According to an Aztec legend, the god Quetzalcoatl, then living on Earth as a man, started on a journey and, after walking for a long time, became hungry and tired. With no food or water around, he thought he would die. Then a rabbit grazing nearby offered himself as food to save his life. Quetzalcoatl, moved by the rabbit's noble offering, elevated him to the moon, then lowered him back to Earth and told him, "You may be just a rabbit, but everyone will remember you; there is your image in light, for all men and for all times."

Another Mesoamerican legend tells of the brave and noble sacrifice of Nanahuatzin during the creation of the fifth sun. Humble Nanahuatzin sacrificed himself in fire to become the new sun, but the wealthy god Tecciztecatl hesitated four times before he finally set himself alight to become the moon. Due to Tecciztecatl's cowardice, the gods felt that the moon should not be as bright as the sun, so one of the gods threw a rabbit at his face to diminish his light. It is also said that Tecciztecatl was in the form of a rabbit when he sacrificed himself to become the moon, casting his shadow there.

A Native American (Cree) legend tells a different variation, about a young rabbit who wished to ride the moon. Only the crane was willing to take him. The trip stretched Crane's legs as the heavy rabbit held them tightly, leaving them elongated as crane's legs are now. When they reached the moon Rabbit touched Crane's head with a bleeding paw, leaving the red mark cranes wear to this day. According to the legend, Rabbit still rides the moon to this day.

Year of the Rabbit - Feb. 3, 2011 - Jan. 22, 2012

A placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger. We should go off to some quiet spot to lick our wounds and get some rest after all the battles of the previous year.

Good taste and refinement will shine on everything and people will acknowledge that persuasion is better than force. A congenial time in which diplomacy, international relations and politics will be given a front seat again. We will act with discretion and make reasonable concessions without too much difficulty.

A time to watch out that we do not become too indulgent. The influence of the Rabbit tends to spoil those who like too much comfort and thus impair their effectiveness and sense of duty.

Law and order will be lax; rules and regulations will not be rigidly enforced. No one seems very inclined to bother with these unpleasant realities. They are busy enjoying themselves, entertaining others or simply taking it easy. The scene is quiet and calm, even deteriorating to the point of somnolence. We will all have a tendency to put off disagreeable tasks as long as possible

Money can be made without too much labor. Our life style will be languid and leisurely as we allow ourselves the luxuries we have always craved for. A temperate year with unhurried pace. For once, it may seem possible for us to be carefree and happy without too many annoyances.

Love Something

The creative, love-something life is also the healthy one.
There is healing and protection in doing what makes you happy.

And No I didn't get a country song Mag Poetry Kit

I stuffed it away
Day after day
As I watched you fade away
I tried to stay away
But you wouldn’t let me
You needed me the way I needed to be needed
And I’ll always love you
I’ll never forget you
God, this sounds like a bad country song
And it might be
But I mean it
And I never thought I would feel this way
You always told me that you weren’t here to stay
I should have believed you
Why didn’t I believe you?
This is the closest thing I could do to sing on paper
And this is for you
I’m sorry if it sucks
LOL
Skipping through the park
I actually realized that it was depressing
So I tried to make it happier
But it didn’t work

The Winter Solstice Sunrise

As promised - Lunar Eclipse 12/21/2010

Everything after this point was just a black picture, as the light from the moon was gone and my cheap digital couldn't capture the image. Actually, if I was smarter and knew how to reset my exposure, etc. I probably could have done it with this camera. But, hey! It was 2 in the a.m.!

Happy timings

Emily's book got here just in time Lydia. We got it about an hour or two before Emily lost her second tooth. She was very excited about the fairy coming now and told me over and over again " Emily is my name too " lol I loved the art work they did for the book totally reminded me if something mom would have found for miss Emily.

Thanks a bunch
Loves you lots

Dragon Quotes

I see Mishy posted a great one on FB:

draco dormiens nunquam titillandus (Never tickle a sleeping dragon)

Another that has always made me giggle is: (although I don't know it in Latin ;-)
“Meddle not in the affairs of the dragon; for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.”

A couple of others I like:

"Come not between the dragon, and his wrath."
-William Shakespeare, King Lear

"Never laugh at live dragons."
- J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit

On my Bucket List - Drumming Up the Sun

drumming up the sun - Yahoo! Video Search

This is something I've wanted to attend for years. Every year on the Winter Solstice the sun is welcomed as it begins it's new cycle.
Maybe next year I'll get there!

Drumming Up The Sun has been a Front Range tradition for many years at the Winter Solstice. Each year an hour or so before dawn, dedicated drummers assemble at the top of the Red Rocks Amphitheater and drum until the sun clears the horizon- moving the wheel of the year along.

Come drum, dance, and celebrate the return of the Sun at Red Rocks!
The park gates open at 6:00am and most people start to gather around 6:30am as the sky begins to glow. If all goes as it should, sunrise will be at 7:18am.

Please note that this is a spiritual gathering for many, and we ask everyone to act accordingly.

Goodbyes

Don't be dismayed at goodbyes.
A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.

Should be enough to give to the people we care about. Should be able to give a copy to each family this way at least. =)

And this, Ying!

One day Vincent van Gogh took a break from painting a still life of sunflowers and left the arrangement sitting on a table. While he was gone, his cat hopped up on the forbidden table and started chewing on the flowers. The next portrait of the cat showed it missing one of its ears.

World's Best New Boutique Hotels

World's Best New Boutique Hotels

I'm blogging this to share a memory. For the last six months or so, Brandy and I have planned a dream trip, via Yahoo's occasional "best of" lists. I think we started with Yahoo's list of best "unknown" hotels around the world, and then added things like the "best" gourmet restaurants in the world, the world's best beaches, etc. etc. Brandy's favorites were, of course, the most obsure, unknown, and exotic spots, and any place that offered new or unusual cuisine to try. We opted out of the world's best motorcycle vacations, feeling neither of us was either brave or coordinated enough to try that one!
So, if once in a while I blog some odd Yahoo list, you'll know why.

The Dragonfly Story (I have no idea who first wrote this story)

Down below the surface of a quiet pond lived a colony of water bugs. They were a happy colony, living far away from the sun. For many months they were busy, scurrying over the soft mud on the bottom of the pond. They did notice that every once in a while one of their colony seemed to loose interest in going about. Clinging to the stem of a pond lily it gradually moved out of sight
and was seen no more.

“Look!” said one of the bugs to another. “One of our colony is climbing up the lily stalk. Where so you think she is going?” Up, up, up it slowly went …even as they watched, the water bug disappeared from sight. It’s friends waited and waited but it didn’t return.

“That’s funny!” said one water bug. “Wasn’t she happy here?” asked another…”Where do you suppose she went?” wondered a third.

No one had an answer. They were all greatly puzzled. Finally one of the water bugs, a leader in the colony, gathered his friends together. “I have an idea. The next time one of us who climbs up the lily stalk he or she must promise to come back and tell us where he went and why.”

“We promise”, they said solemnly.

One spring day, not long after, the very water bug who had suggested the plan found himself climbing up the lily stalk. Up, up, up he went. Before he knew what was happening, he had broke through the surface of the water and fallen onto the broad, green lily pad above.

When he awoke, he looked about with surprise. He couldn’t believe what he saw. A startling change had come over his body. His movement revealed long silver wings and a long tail. Even as he struggled, he felt an impulse to move his wings. The warmth of the sun soon dried the moisture from the new body. He moved his wings again and suddenly he found himself up above the water.
He had become a dragonfly!!

Swooping and dipping in great curves, he flew through the air. He felt exhilarated in the new atmosphere. By and by the new dragonfly lighted happily on a lily pad to rest. Then it was that he chanced to look below to the bottom of the pond. Why, he was right above his old friends, the water bugs! There they were scurrying around, just as he had been doing some time before.

The dragonfly remembered his promise:” the next one of us who climbs up the lily stalk will come back and tell where he or she went and why.” Without thinking, the dragonfly darted down. Suddenly he hit the surface of the water and bounced away. Now that he was a dragonfly, he could no
longer go into the water…

“I can’t return!” he said in dismay. “At least I tried. But I can’t keep my promise. Even if I could go back, not one of the water bugs would know me in my new body. I guess I’ll just have to wait until they become dragonflies too. Then they’ll understand what has happened to me and where I went”

And the dragonfly winged off happily into its wonderful new world of sun and air…

More of the same.

Last two nights Emilys memory have all had to do with her and grandma laying on the floor watching diffrent shows but mainly spongbob. I am startting to get the feeling that they did this a lot. Mom always said she was an angel when she was at her house. Its not a shock when all you do is lay on the floor and watch TV with her. Now i know what i have been doing wrong the last six years.

One and Counting.

Our little Miss Emily lost her first tooth on Saturday night. She has had a few that were rather loose the last month or so. Saturday night she came up and said that it was going to fall out that night. Like any good mom a gave it the wiggle test and it did not appear to be going very far so i let her know it would be a few more days. She left the room sad but again told me it would be gone TONIGHT! Not one min later she came in screaming that the tooth had blood in it. Apearently unhappy with my few days respones she felt the need to push on it as hard as she could. I was lucky enough to have the master of teeth pulling just in the other room awaiting to yank it out the rest the way. Papa did an exelent job and Emily excaimed after freaking out about the blood. "See mom I TOLD you it was coming out TONIGHT!!! She is so my mothers grandchild.

Memorys - Tonight emily got upset about not being able to think of anything, but once she got started she kept going. I told Emily about the morning she was born. We all know that mom loved that little girl more then any of the rest of us and was more excited than all of us combined. She was such a good new born. I got to hold her for a long time with not a peep from her. Then i tossed her off to Mike and she was just as good. We could tell mom was about to bust if we made her wait any longer so we passed miss em to her. The moment we did she burst in to tears. Emily will forever be the only baby that crys when mom held her. Mike was happy to toss in the fact that Mom and him decided that night that hospitals needed to invest in better chairs. As i was the one in labor a felt little sympathy for their pain in the hard chiars for 18 hours. OOO how i have paid for that over the last year. Emilys memory was about when moms house recently flooded. She remembered much of the crazyness that took place that day. I also reminded EMily of the day when mom, her and papa all went to the park. It started to rain when they got there and mom told Emily that unless she made the rain go away that they would not be able to play. No sooner then Emily getting mad and telling the rain to go away did it pack up and run away. Mom always thought she was a weather witch and this just put it in stone as far as she was concerned.

I have also discovered while every one lost someone (a friend, child, mother, wife sister) when mom died. I lost two people my mom and my best friend. We took em to the park today. It's a very nice park but as em ran off to play and Mike and Dad chatted away I very much relized how alone I was. It has always been me and mom to chat while the others ran off to play. On the way home we pasted a Hong Kong Food Store. All i could think was i could not wait to go shoping with mom and all the good things we could bring home to eat. I didnt say anything, but dad said "o god the things your mother would try to feed me from there.

Van Gogh's Starry Night

‎"All men have stars, but they are not the same things for different people. For some, who are travelers, the stars are guides. For others they are no more than little lights in the sky. For others, who are scholars, they are problems... But all these stars are silent. You-You alone will have stars as no one else has th...em... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars will be laughing when you look at the sky at night..You, only you, will have stars that can laugh! And when your sorrow is comforted (time soothes all sorrows) you will be content that you have known me... You will always be my friend. You will want to laugh with me. And you will sometimes open your window, so, for that pleasure... It will be as if, in place of the stars, I had given you a great number of little bells that knew how to laugh"
— The Little Prince Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Penny Pinching Irishman

Roo woke up this morning and discovered that to his dismay the penny's he placed on his bedroom floor were scattered about. It took him exactly 2 seconds to start crying like someone had punched him in the gut. I promptly collected four of them from the carpet and when I couldn't find any more, I asked how many there were. He said five in between sobs. From his distress I would have guessed that it was a lot more than just one stinking penny. I gave him 3 dimes to replace his penny and even then he wouldn't let up. This kid must have gotten this from his Dad. Some times I drop a penny and I'm too lazy to exert the effort required to retrieve it.

Night two memorys

For Emily tonight she remembered spending the night with mom and singing
Hickory dickory dock
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down
Hickory dickory dock
Before bed. I told her about the first thing she ever ate. Which was for my birthday and Emily was just over a month old. I got so mad at mom because she gave Emily frosting. I wanted to be the first to feed her solid food. Of course now I don't care at all and Emily loves frosting more then anything. Mike was very general and had to do with mom not being happy when she was losing her political debate. I never got to see her on the losing side so can't believe such things really happen.

In response to left over roast beef I sure did make green chili tonight for dinner an it was soooo yummy.

The Kiko Blah Baby and Goat Papa

Cleaning out my drafts - this is Chapter 1 of a multi-chapter story narrated by SkyBelle - the cutest goat ever created.

Let me preface this by saying that this "play station" has been missing its top tier for a year or more. Or so those fellow goats that have been here that long tell me. There have been SEVERAL darling Pygmy babies arrive here (myself, of course, being the MOST darling), for some time. The GoatPapa has had no interest in fixing this item and we goats had collectively decided that once warm dry weather arrived, we would see our sad, sad, goat gym hauled off to the burn pit.

Little did we realize that all it would take would be the birth of one stinking Kiko baby girl, born to GoatPapa's favorite goat, for the rest of us to get the use of our gym back. GoatMam saw this newest addition climbing the broken piece of junk at less than 24 hours old, and she reported it to GoatPapa this morning. Lo and behold, he had to race home from work in the middle of the day today to repair this dangerous playground equipment so that his "darling" could fully enjoy it. Not one to hold a grudge, (and after all, I'm bigger than the new kid and can always knock her off the top), I thought I better assist in this project.

Appears to be quality material...(nothing but the best for the Kiko - blah - baby.)

More Food!

If I had to pick foods that remind me of Brandy, I'd have to say that pot stickers and
Mongolian Beef are the first things that come to mind for me. It probably has more to do with memories of times we spent at a Chinese restaurant in Wichita than anything else.
The aforementioned movie popcorn and peanut M & M's (by the way - don't try plain M & M's - it's TOTALLY not the same!) would be high on the list, along with Porter's roast beef and mashed potatoes in Anthony, KS.
She would be quite proud of us all, as I'm now hungry as hell and going to look for something disgustingly fattening to eat and think of more!

Introducing Dionysys and Food that reminds me of Brandy

Brandy suggested that L was old enough and really should be blogging with us so hopefully we will be hearing from her soon.

Orange Chocolate that she always shared with me.
Leftover pot roast ressurected into chili (which sounded gross because of everything she put in it but I ended up loving it)
Pancakes (and I don't even know why, must be the butter)
Chinese Noodle Soup
Crab puffs which she forced me to try
The yogurt drops that she fed the sugar gliders, I tried to give them some but I was afraid they would bite my hand off.
Of course the quiche that she made and called Dona quiche after our trip, and I said it wasn't Dona quiche because it was made by Brandy.
Smoothies made in th magic bullet
Homemade Icecream
Cookies for auction days (probably just the smell of the cookies, I don't remember eating them)
Cheese Crisps
Hummus
Tea

If you ask me what her favorite food was I wouldn't be able to tell you. I can only say that she loved to share good things with the people that she loved. Dona shared with me an old favorite of hers. Movie popcorn with lots of butter and Peanut M&M's. It was the absolute best. If the next time you see me I weigh 300lbs please try not to notice.

Anger

Posted the daily quote on FB at about 2:00 this a.m., and almost forgot to post it here!

Anger is always fear, and fear is always fear of loss.

Brandy and Food - Her favorite combo!

April and I were having a conversation about B on facebook and she suggested blogging it and any future conversations we have, unless we (the "we" being any of us who knew and loved her) feel they are too personal for us to share.

Dona M. Mason-Reneau December 11 at 2:58pm
So....if you are up to it, here is the first of my questions.....
What was Mum's favorite food? Don't think! Just give me the first thing that comes to your mind.
I know she loved anything with lots of cream and butter. I know she had lots of favorites that changed from time to time. But, what's the first thing you think of when someone asks you that question??

April M Dickerson December 11 at 4:39pm Report
Quiche is what I thinlk of first but I also think of angel fod cook and her explaining "let them eat cake,

Dona M. Mason-Reneau December 11 at 5:00pm
Well two of my faves so that will be uber easy. Did u know quiche was what she always made me make her when she visited?
I am going to make the 8th a Brandy day. Since I can't be with you guys I'm going to try to spend the day like she would like. Reading, writing, napping, sketching, eating her favorite foods, and having sex - even if it is by myself. Ha ha.

April M Dickerson December 11 at 5:05pm Report
I did know she always made you make it. We talked about the quiche and beans you made when we went up last not that long ago. It was really good.

Dona M. Mason-Reneau December 11 at 8:17pm
One of the things I loved about her - she could turn something decadent into something even more decadent - like using heavy cream instead of half and half for the quiche!

April M Dickerson December 11 at 9:56pm Report
yup she could make any one fat. We just had strawberry angel food cake with strawberrys and whip cream on top it was very yumy.

Dona M. Mason-Reneau December 12 at 1:40am
She would razz me a lot about not eating sugar, etc. The 'ole, you only live once and damn, why deny yourself good food???!!! I think she would laugh her ass off to see how much weight I've gained since I quit smoking! Too bad it's not from good food though. I swear she decided if she was going to lose it, I had to have it! Share and share alike, I guess. LOL.

Grandma things

Thanks to Dona's rambling we are now doing a nightly story or memory of mom. Emily's was that she remembered laying on the floor snuggling grandma watching sponge bob square pants. He was blowing bobbles and they were coming out in all sorts of shapes. Mikes was fighting with her over who had gotten more shrimp. God knows it was never da nor I that had taken it =) thanks for the reminder to keep her memory alive. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Letters from Houston

So far so good. Job is going well. It has taken the whole week to get the office any where near clean. House is still a huge mess but the bathroom and kitchen are rather clean. Some things just have to be taken care of before living can be in any home. I have the next two days off we plan to get an xmas tress and do somthing for emily that she would enjoy. I feel bad that she is so bored and i dont even have enough time to set up her homework. She may not like is very much but at least its somthing to do.

We also got moms urn in the mail this week. I cant make the link work so you will have to copy and paste if you want to see it. http://www.bestpricecaskets.com/store/merchant.mvcScreen=PROD&Store_Code=BPC&Product_Code=Urn-Brass-11A&Category_Code=urnsstorefront

I no longer have a drafts pile. I deleted everything of mine. I have nothing else to say right now.

Today's quote.

For those of you on facebook and this blog, you get them twice. Sorry, but I'm way too short on brain cells to do different ones in both places every day and keep them straight.

Shop for security over happiness and you buy it, at that price.

Lucky 13

As we all know, B liked to mess with us in ways that made us think. It seems she was doing plenty of that the first few days after she went on to Summerland ahead of us. I'm not sure exactly what this particular incident was supposed to make me think about, except for, "WTF?"
The night before I was to fly home from Corpus Christi, I went to the hotel business center to access my email and print out my return flight itinerary. I had, of course, lost the copy I went to CC with. In my in box was an email from the airlines with my boarding passes (for both my flight from Corpus to Houston and my connecting flight from Houston to OKC) for my return trip. I thought this rather odd, since boarding passes aren't issued until you check in, either at the airport or online and I had done neither. Other than the passing, "That's odd," I didn't think about it much and printed both boarding passes.
The next day, upon arriving at the airport, I discovered that I had actually printed the boarding pass for my flight from CC to Houston twice, and had not printed the one from Houston to Oklahoma City. Being able to envision every possible "worse case"
scenario, I ran to the auto check in machine and printed out another set of
boarding passes. I looked at my pass and it said I was in seat 13A from Houston to
OKC. I am well aware of the fact that there is no row 13 on airplanes, but again,
just blew it off.
When I boarded the flight, I sat in seat 14A. The one right after 12A. Yeah, I know
it's not 13A, but in some realities it must be the same thing, since it came right
after 12A????????
After getting my books, phone, gum and other essentials out of it, I placed my
grossly overstuffed "personal item" (a.k.a. tote bag Lydia had given me with
another tote I brought with me stuffed into it, with my oversized purse stuffed
into that)under the seat in front of me, taking off my jacket, and securing my
seat belt, I was good to go. Until the gal with the boarding pass that
assigned seat 14A to her showed up.
Mass chaos shortly ensued, when the two Japanese gentlemen who had boarding passes
for seat 13B and 13C showed up. The three of us stood together and listened to the
stewardess repeat, "This is impossible. We don't have a row 13. The airline
doesn't issue boarding passes for row 13, because we don't have a row 13."
I'm keeping my seat 13A boarding pass. It may be worth a lot of money someday......

One a day...and then repeat them all.

Every person, all the events in your life, are there because you have drawn them there.
What you choose to do with them is up to you.
